Bazaltbor Laposa Winery

PLANT – Atelier Peter Kis : Peter Kis, Bea Molnar

01/01/2011

The wines of the Laposa-Cellar became well known under the name “Bazaltbor”. Their growing regions are only on the basalt hills and it gives the characteristic mineral aromas of the wines that mirror their terroir.

Two elements – the symmetric gable, closed roof abstraction of the old press houses and the basalt bands that erupted to the surface – connect together into a new system. The basic elements run freely, in any direction where there are no obstacles.

The slightly transformed pattern of grapevines copied from own old house twining around the concrete facing panels. If natural lighting needs to be provided in the inside spaces, the bands in the reinforced concrete model, were replaced by a perforated metal sheet.
